…it begins. The London Apollo Club is back.
A very special night for NW and the Apollo community this much missed club will open its doors again on April 25th. Only £10, doors at 8pm, first come first served, stay ’til late, and later.
✨Bringing back the sounds of the Apollo✨.
If you know, you know. But if you don’t: the London Apollo Club was created in 1969 on the ground floor of the building. It is a treasured venue created by the local Afro-Caribbean community. Over the years it continued to welcome legendary artists including John Holt, Elton Ellis, Gregory Isaacs – and Bob Marley played the venue on his first visit to the UK.
Please join us on this exciting day.
This will be a fundraising event organised by Friends of the Willesden Trades Hall and London Apollo Club and will help secure the future of this incredible building and venue.

Sign up to these great events! All part of our National Heritage Lottery Fund Resilience Project, which enables us to find out what you want from the hall in the future….

On Saturday 21st March the Apollo Club became a spaceship, piloted by @ain.bailey, crewed by @_lizzie.graham_ , @christyobeirne @metrolandcultures and various trustees. Passengers from our communities strapped in to share sonic memories of their lives and their relationship with this building. Ain lead us on a nutritious and inspiring journey through our speculative pasts, presents and futures. You can join us at some of the places we visited at the playlist, https://open.spotify.com/playlist/79NaTTXxpuhHRGES3VZQuW?si=3c52d0ac75e54c74
A great diversion within the arc of our intergalactic journey with the National Heritage Lottery Fund Resilience Project. Thank you to Ain, all at Metroland, and everyone who attended ✨space is the place ✨.
On Valentine’s day we held a public consultation at the Trades Hall – thank you to everyone who came to what was a very dynamic and nutritious event! We were able to do two things – introduce the project team, trustees and architects, and share some design concepts for the future of the Hall; and importantly meet the Hall’s diverse communities, discuss our journey thus far, and continue to imagine what the future of the Willesden Trades Hall might look like together.
Thank you to everyone who participated, filled out the consultation/feedback forms, and helped us polish off the delicious samosas supplied by Bhavna Sweet Mart on Willesden High Road.
A good day.
If you couldn’t attend here’s the design. Have a look! And if you had a moment to fill out the questionnaire here, we’d be most grateful …
